Building Inspector 

Building inspectors perform inspections for commercial and residential structures to ensure that they meet or exceed current building codes. The position will be mostly in the field, and the daily duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Perform field inspections as required by the daily schedule.

• Oversee and provide training to new inspectors as necessary.

• Submit inspection reports to the office accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintains knowledge of current code

• Maintains professional licensing through continuing education

• Willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

• Must be licensed as a Building Inspector in the State of Florida

• Clean driving record

Supplemental Information

Below are additional requirements that may necessary in order for a candidate to perform the job satisfactorily.

• Thorough knowledge of Florida Building Codes

• Ability to interpret building plans, specifications, and drawings for accuracy

• Ability to detect errors and code violations

• Ability to establish and maintain various professional relationships with count officials, contractors, property owners, and others.
